Featuring Hillary Goodwin

Hillary Goodwin will be the QuiltCon 2026 featured artist. Goodwin will give the Featured Lecture on Saturday at the show, and the quilt show will also feature an exhibit of her works.

Hillary Goodwin is a textile artist and quilter based in Northern California with roots in North Carolina and Washington State. Her work explores modern themes while paying homage to the rich traditions of quilting, dyeing, hand stitching, and leatherwork. Botanically dyed fabric, repurposed t-shirts, grain sack,s as well as modern textiles all show up in her often hand-quilted pieces.

Goodwin received a Bachelor of Science and a Doctorate from the University of Washington. Her work has won prestigious awards and been exhibited internationally, as well as featured in multiple books and magazines. One of her community quilts was acquired in 2021 by the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit and is part of their permanent collection.

At QuiltCon 2026, attendees will be able to tour a sampling of Goodwin’s works. Attendees will have the ability to learn more about them through the Special Exhibit Tours, a ticketed daily event that will take place before the quilt show opens.

Need a Scooter?

A limited number of on-site rental scooters are available through our mobility partner, NC Mobility & Medical. It is highly recommended that if you know which days you will be attending QuiltCon, you pre-book your device by calling (800) 674-9349 or book online using their website.

Sensory Relief Space

QuiltCon will again offer a dedicated area to provide a calmer, less overwhelming environment for individuals with sensory sensitivities. This space is located in the Marriott Raleigh, connected to the convention center through escalators and elevators, and will provide a quiet, regulated space to allow attendees a peaceful setting.

Only Service Animals Permitted

Service animals are defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability. The ADA requires that service animals be under the control of the handler at all times, and be harnessed, leashed, or tethered unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work, or the individual’s disability prevents them from using these devices.
