Three Year Board Term running from Jan 1, 2018 – Dec. 31, 2020

Are you interested in running to be your Region’s Representative on the MQG Board? There are five regions and you can see which you are in here. Candidates are being accepted for all regions. Consider if you, or someone you know, might be a fit to run!

The responsibilities for board members include:

  1. Attend in person Board dinner the Wednesday before QuiltCon
  2. Attend all four days of every QuiltCon at their own expense during the board member’s term (attending and volunteering as Crew and having expenses covered is possible).
  3. Sit on task forces as skills are a fit
  4. Make an annual financial contribution, based on ability to give
  5. Have online video conference capability for monthly Board meetings (camera & audio)
  6. Attend bi-monthly video conference Board meetings
  7. Maintain quarterly Regional newsletters.

    * Please note that MQG board members can submit quilts to be juried into QuiltCon, but they cannot compete for prizes. If their quilt(s) are accepted into QuiltCon the hang for exhibit only.

All MQG board member positions are volunteer positions.

August 19, 2017: Webinar presentation

Interested and have questions? Watch this webinar  for an overview and Q & A session with two current regional reps, Andres Rosales and Carole Lyles Shaw and nominating Committee member Sandi Sawa Hazlewood.. 

September 15, 2017: Application deadline

All applications reviewed by the nominating committee. If more than 3 candidates apply for one region the nominating committee uses a a scoring system to determine the top three per region to be voted on by membership.

Between October 2–10, 2017

The MQG October Newsletter will:

  1. Announce who the candidates are, along with posting their campaigning materials
  2. Explain the electronic voting/election period and that an individual email to vote will be sent to each MQG member through SurveyMonkey on Oct. 13.

October 13, 2017: Voting

Electronic voting via Survey Monkey emails are sent – voting is open for three days

October 17, 2017: Election Results
