Jacquie Gering is a passionate modern quilt maker and designer known for her innovative “out of the box” designs, striking message quilts and unique style. Quilting Modern: Techniques and Projects for Improvisational Quilts is her first book. Jacquie is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Modern Quilt Guild and she blogs and shares her quilting knowledge on her popular blog, Tallgrass Prairie Studio. She lives in Kansas City with her husband and black lab.
Katie Jones-Burford is a tall, innovative, loud, and awkward Midwesterner. She documents life. She takes photos. She quilts. She makes. She cultivates relationships. She’s married a bacon loving, vintage baseball playing bearded ginger named Dustin. She’s the mother of two toddlers who contribute daily magic and chaos to her life. She’s a board member and founder of the Indianapolis Modern Quilt Guild.
Latifah Saafir is known for her bold and innovative modern quilts. Combining her training as an engineer with her lifelong passion for sewing, Latifah creates designs that are graphic and contemporary, featuring challenging techniques with meticulous attention to detail. A co-founder of both the Los Angeles Modern Quilt Guild and the worldwide Modern Quilt Guild, Latifah currently teaches workshops to guilds around the country, and is working on a line of patterns and products. She is excited to be designing her first line of fabrics to be released with Me + You, the new modern fabric brand with Hoffman Fabrics. She’s been featured in over a dozen books and magazines and loves being an ambassador of Janome sewing.
