Creative Webinar: Alternate Gridwork

Alternate gridwork is a modern quilting design element that is the basis for many modern quilts. We'll explore different types of gridwork, drawing inspiration from graphic, web, and print design. We'll also cover basic grid system theory and review its relation to proportion and ratio. You'll be inspired with the understanding and ideas to start your own alternate grid design in your next quilt.

A quilter in her early 20s, Heather stopped quilting until 2005, when she was inspired by the modern quilting movement and made her first modern quilt. Heather is founder and member of the Austin Modern Quilt Guild and author of the popular blog, Modern Day Quilts. She is the Director of Marketing and Programming for The Modern Quilt Guild.

We jumped in with the recording a little late, so it starts about 5 minutes into the presentation. Sorry for the inconvenience!
