Aphrodite Quilt, March 2019

"During the process of creating a new quilt design, the real magic happens when I can let go of my expectations and literal inspiration—the shapes start walking and the colors start talking.
Aphrodite is a charming mixture of optical illusion, Koopa's castle, and the picot edges of a tatted doily. Peachy-pinks set against complementary shades of blue play along with opposing themes of masculine and feminine: fire and water, sun and moon...Ares and Aphrodite. By setting the blocks on-point and using light and shadow to add dimension, this quilt transforms the humble half-square triangle into a spiky lattice."  –Stefanie Satterwhite
