"I was inspired by two books I was reading. Complete Mondrian and A Grammar of Color. Mondrian's lines with color blocks energized me. Especially his last work entitled ""Victory Boogie Woogie"" which was still on his easel and unfinished at the time of his death in February 1944. Value according to Professor Munsell's definition reads, ""The quality by which we distinguish a light color from a dark one."" My goal was to achieve the dynamics of color blocking with pastels and straight line dense quilting. Therefore the title ""Mondrian with Munsell's Values""."
