MQG Makers Membership Details

We plan the schedule, curate the content, and create the space - you simply show up when you can and enjoy. Whether you join every event or drop in when it fits your schedule, the MQG Makers community will be here to support and inspire you. This year's faculty includes Hillary Goodwin, Andrea Tsang Jackson, Diana Li Fitzgerald, and Ashelyn Downs!

Who Can Join?

MQG Makers is available exclusively to current Modern Quilt Guild members. Not a member yet? Join the MQG first, then come right back - we’d love to welcome you.

Need-To-Know Details

MQG Makers 2025-26 Featured Speakers will be Hillary Goodwin, Andrea Tsang Jackson, Diana Li Fitzgerald, and Ashelyn Downs. 

MQG Makers events will be held at a variety of times to be as accessible as possible for Makers in varying time zones, and whenever possible, MQG Makers events will be recorded and posted on the MQG Makers community page for a limited time, typically 1-2 weeks. 

Most MQG Makers events will take place on Zoom. We will post all the links you need on the MQG Makers community page, our central hub for all the MQG Makers fun! You won't need to register for each event, but we'll have the option for reminders about the events to keep things top of mind. 

All MQG Makers events are open to all MQG Makers members. The links you need to attend the events will be posted on the MQG Makers community page. Just attend whatever events work for you! For some Open Sew events, if we have a large turnout, we’ll use Zoom Breakout Rooms to keep the groups casual and conducive to conversation.

Allowing space to connect with other MQG Makers is our utmost goal with this new group. We will have a variety of open sew and community-based events designed to help you find your quilty people! For some events, we will have themed breakout rooms to give you a chance to connect with other quilters with similar interests. You can also connect with Makers members in the forums and discussion threads on the Makers community page. 

Remember, MQG Makers' educational events and skill-building activities are for quilters of all skill levels. We can't wait to meet you!

Open Sew Zooms

Join a casual, come-as-you-are virtual sewing session with fellow MQG Makers. 

Live Online Events

Skill-building workshops, lectures, webinar discussions, and featured guest open sews bring you face-to-face with some of the most exciting voices in modern quilting.

Follow-Up Sessions

Keep the conversation going! Join follow-up Zooms for deeper dives, show-and-tells, and reflections after educational events.

Skill Shares & Sew alongs

Try something new with community-led skill shares or join a sew along. It’s a great way to learn from each other, explore ideas, and stay creatively engaged.

We created MQG Makers to build a deeper, more connected experience within the Modern Quilt Guild - one where creativity thrives alongside community. We wanted to create a space where members could truly get to know one another, share their work, and grow together over time. MQG Makers is designed to nurture those connections through monthly live events, small group sessions, skill-building workshops, and a private online community. It’s a place to find your people, stay inspired, and make quilting even more joyful.
