The Washington, D.C. Modern Quilt Guild was founded by Natalie Hardin in 2010. A small group at first, we now have approximately 40 members from the District and three surrounding states. We rotate our meetings across DC, Maryland, and Virginia to accommodate our geographically dispersed membership.

We meet monthly, with approximately one meeting each quarter containing an educational component, and the rest six-hour Saturday Sew-Ins where members can socialize, be inspired by one another's work, or just get some serious sewing done without the distractions of home. Each year, our September sew-in is dedicated to charity projects.

We also take advantage of all the (free!) cultural activities in the DC area including museum trips to gather inspiration for future quilts, and hand sewing on the Mall.

Guild Meeting Locations:
We meet in various locations around the DC Metro area, including public libraries in DC and Northern Virginia, and Capital Quilts in Rockville, MD. Please check the schedule on our blog for the next meeting date and location.
