HIVE ARTISTS’ RESIDENCY: First, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Artists’ Residency at the HIVE. I have heard only positive feedback from everyone who had a chance to spend time there, but if you had a different experience, please let me know. There is a 3 year wait before we can re-apply for a spot as artists in residence and I would like to hear your thoughts on whether we should re-apply including: time of year to ask for a residency, how many months to apply for (1 to 6 months), whether to ask for the larger studio “D”, etc. Please comment below or send me an email: jane.bitz@gmail.com. Special thanks to Mickey, Stephanie and Christy for their work on the Hive Committee and the Spots & Dots workshop. Thanks also to Stephanie, Nancy and Sharon who used or loaned their cutting equipment to cut the dots out for us and Carole for helping to cut and fuse the interfacing on the fabrics as well as Mickey for all the fabric we used.
JUNDT EXHIBITION: Many thanks to everyone who made it possible to get the photos done for the Jundt Exhibition: Mary and Carole who worked all day to photograph the quilts, Heidi who made the hanging sleeve and loaned her quilt stand and all the members who brought in their quilts to be photographed and were patient with us. Thanks to Linda for the cream puff treats! It was a long day, but we got it done. Next, we will be dropping off our quilts for the exhibition on Monday and Tuesday, May 18 & 19. Paul & Katy Culver volunteered to cut the wood hanging pieces to length for each quilt. You will be able to pick up your wood piece at Sew Day at the Extension Building on May 16.
