Updates to the QuiltCon 2026 Quilt Show

By Darci Read posted 07-14-2025 01:20 PM

There are just a few months until the QuiltCon entry deadline of October 31 - it'll be here before you know it! (Don't worry-the entry form hasn't opened yet. Look for instructions and a link near the end of August. Entries open Sept. 1 every year.)

As you're preparing your entries, take note of these two important updates for this year:

  • The maximum width and length for any entry is 90" In 2025 we lowered this from 100" to 94" to eliminate the need for 12' high pipe & drape. We found that at 94" the quilts were still just grazing the ground. The new limit of 90" will ensure clean quilts and safety for staff. We don't anticipate lowering this again.
  • A third photo will now be required to show a detail view of the edge finishing
We have found that many entrants are cropping too close to their quilt images and eliminating the edge finishing. The jury needs to evaluate if a quilt has a finished edge, and how it is finished, so this new photo requirement will help minimize photo-related disqualifications.

Make sure to read through the full list of rules, linked below, as you prepare your entries. As always, we look forward to an exciting and inspiring QuiltCon quilt show. We know that, once again, our jury will have their work cut out for them!
